Guest post!! Stylistocrat Vegas shopping guide!

First off, its springtime!!!!!!! And I’m happy that I’m doing this contributing/guest blogger
for my fellow Fashionista Ms. Aire!
So this update is of course entitled the “Where to 2 to really get your shop on!” I have
found the Holy Grail for true fashionista’s. Yes I’m embarrassed to say it, but it had been 15
years since I stepped foot in Las Vegas! The good thing is that my friend will NEVER happen
again… and I have a blog piece for you!

In exiting the airport I just so happened to be listening to T.I.’s verse “Catch me in Tao, on
the strip in Vegas”… and what a strip it is if you’re the gambling type… or the shopping type
Let me let you know I love spring. I love the warmer weather (although I could do without
the allergies that come along with them) and I love packing up the winter suits and getting
my credit card ready for my annual “gotta have it now” spring extravaganza
So… here are the latest fashions I picked up from, from Vegas: ( Editors note: continue after the jump for fun and exciting tips from Stylistocrat)

Stripes, stripes and more stripes
Floral, Floral, floral patterns are always hot in spring, but stripes, on the other hand, I
noticed the new season can’t get enough of. Who knew stripes could be so versatile and so
becoming – they can be found in wide or thick patterns, horizontally, vertically, and even
diagonally. If you don’t want striped clothing, try a striped handbag or shoes to give your
old little black dress some pizzazz and get you in line.
Miracle Mile Shops Tip: Get nautical at BCBGMAXAZRIA, White House|Black
Market, Betsey Johnson and Urban Outfitters.
The bold and the beautiful
Although Las Vegas doesn’t typically get gloomy winter days, we do get the gloomy winter
clothing. Be gone grays and muted tones…welcome pops of bright hues, color blocking and
geometric shapes. This spring color is king, so embrace it – try unexpected combinations
like mixing a bold tangerine dress with a fuchsia belt or wear bright pink wedge sandals
(wedges are big this spring too) with a yellow top and a vivid green skirt. If you’re not
ready for an entire outfit brought to you in fabulous Technicolor, pick your favorite citrus
shade or brilliant blue and wear it with white (white is white hot for spring!).
Miracle Mile Shops Tip: Be bright and bold at H&M, American Apparel, Steve
Madden and Bakers.

Corral your coral
There’s one color that you will see everywhere this spring, and that’s coral. The great
thing about coral is you can add it to the other spring trends (nautical stripes, white) or
just add it to items you already have and you’ll look fresh. It’s also uber-flattering on
everyone – corals run the gamut from pink-hued to orange. I recommend that you go coral
in your accessories with a handbag, statement necklace or even a pair of shoes. Miracle
Mile Shops Tip: Get your coral on at Sephora, bebe, Tommy Bahama and French
Sophisticated 70’s
If you are old enough to have worn these fashions when they originally came out and you
hoped you’d never see them again, guess what…the 70’s definitely back. This time they are
sophisticated and modern and you don’t have to break out a disco ball to wear them (unless
you want to). Think high waisted flared pants, flowy blouses with ties, filmy long dresses,
halter tops, jumpsuits and platforms. Spring is a great time to wear slinky fabrics, oversized
sunglasses and a gold cuff or two, so you’ll look awesome!
Miracle Mile Shops Tip: Swing on in and pick up your 70’s gear at GUESS by
Marciano, BCBGMAXAZRIA, True Religion Brand Jeans, Aldo and GAP.

·       How it works:

bon chic, bon genre

My friend shared this article with me about the Americanization of the Rue St.-Honoré.

Although I find this news exciting it also worries me because as pointed out in the article this also comes with the “casualization of fashion,” if the French start to look to us for trends and ways to dress, who will we look to?

I remind myself that this may be far off though because they still get a kick out of cowboys and Indians, a trend we have been over for years!

I suppose it is also important to keep in mind their style is totally different, their preppiness is actually considered BCBG, bon chic, bon genre. So at the end of the day their chicness shines through no matter what.

No need to panic yet…..

Dolce & Gabbana Dresses Milan Boxing Team

It’s been reported by WWD that Dolce & Gabbana has decided to associate their brand with a team for the first time in the history of their company! And who are the lucky gentleman? The Milan boxing team!

It seems like they’ve made the right choice, loving this quote from one of the members…
“Athletes work with their bodies and they can wear designer clothes just like models,” said Valentino, who sports 15 tattoos — and 15 stitches he got one day after a match. “Men have accepted fashion and today take care of their bodies, so who is better than an athlete as an example?”

Couldn’t agree more! So let’s hope this is just the first of many sponsorships!
