NFL Fashion

Hi readers, I have to apologize in advance for this post, because my co-worker just sent me the link to this article, and I didn’t take the time to calm my excitement before typing this, so forgive me if its a little crazy. :)

According to an article on NPR.org, the NFL is finally realizing that the women that make up 40% of their 200 million fans worldwide do not want the same dumpy merchandise that their male counterparts wear.

Its hard to believe that it was just 10 years ago that Reebok designed the first women’s jersey and just 4 short years ago that the Green Bay packers released the first pink line for women, to help benefit breast cancer. It is so exciting to see the success of the steps they have made thus far. I can’t help but get excited for what is to come for women’s NFL fashion!!

I find the picture above to be a good sign of what is to come as well. It is the first NFL-authorized ball gown, made entirely out of Arizona Cardinals jerseys worn by the players themselves. Most positive trends that occur in fashion are a result of the trickle down effect, so if something is being shown on a runway in a high fashion way, it is only a matter of time until an everyday, ready to wear version appears.

Go Steelers! :)

Hines Ward, keep up the good work!

I wanted to take this time to congratulate Hines Ward on being named the dirtiest player in the NFL. According to a Sports Illustrated poll of 296 players released this week, Hines is a jerk.

I find the results of this poll a little crazy, considering Ray Lewis barely broke the top 20. And to make it even worse Troy was in the top 10. Troy, seriously? I guess I have to keep in mind off the field charity work is not factored in, and apparently in Ray’s case neither is murder.

HERE WE GO….
